Welcome to Childmentalhealth.ca

One in five children suffers from at least one mental health disorder, and comorbidity is the rule rather than the exception. Early intervention is critical, but this requires screening and identification. Primary care providers are optimally positioned to monitor for change in children’s mental health across development, however, research shows a lack of confidence in being able to recognize and respond to pediatric mental illness.

Our goal is to help primary care providers fulfill their important role.

The following information, toolkits and guidelines have been developed and compiled to assist primary care providers in improved screening, assessment and treatment.
